Thrive is recruiting for a Bilingual Care Coordinator

The Care Coordinator is part of the Kansas CARES (Coordination and Assistance of Trusted Enrollment Services) project and will be responsible for outreach, education, and enrollment coverage for individuals and small businesses in the Insurance Marketplace, CHIP, Medicaid, Medicare, and other safety net services. In addition, the position will be responsible for assisting in the provision of translation services to other community organizations, as needed.

Duties and responsibilities

Basic Responsibilities
  • Provide in-person assistance with enrolling or re-enrolling in health insurance, CHIP, Medicaid, and Medicare for individuals and small businesses in the service area.
  • Meet and educate individuals and small businesses about the types of health insurance programs offered.
  • Assist potential registrants with grievances, complaints, or questions regarding their health coverage or a determination of their coverage or safety net services.
  • Providing information in a fair and unbiased manner that is culturally and linguistically appropriate and accessible to persons with disabilities.
  • Providing transportation services to local residents.
  • Remind potential participants of appointments with reminder postcards and calls, and keep track of reminder postcards and calls.
  • Meet requirements identified by funding sources and Thrive Allen County, including timely submission of project reports and entry of all required data.
  • Identify and establish collaborations with organizations and community sites for client recruitment and referral.
  • Act as a liaison between communities and health care agencies.
  • Advocating for the health of the individual and society by providing guidance and social assistance to residents.
  • Enhance the population’s ability to communicate effectively with health care providers.
  • Providing referral and follow-up services.
  • Proactively identify and enroll eligible individuals in federal, state, local, private, or nonprofit health and human services programs.

qualifications

  • He must be fluent in Spanish and English.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of work experience required. Some college education with 1 year of work experience preferred.
  • Ability to use popular office software (Word, Excel, Power Point) and cloud-based software.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that health care reaches the medically disadvantaged, especially the poor and the uninsured.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • A good independent team player.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work well within the organizational structure.
  • Ability to work with people of all social, economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and in a professional manner.
  • A friendly, outgoing personality who enjoys working with an audience.
  • Excellent organizational and decision making skills.

  • Compensation and benefits: $18.27 per hour. An hourly job with medical and dental benefits and 100% of premiums paid by the employer, an IRA with 3% employer matching, 120 hours of paid vacation per year and 10 paid vacation days.
