2022-23 May and Paul Poetter Full-Tuition Scholarship at SCAD (US Based)
The Savannah College of Art and Design is proud to award the May and Paul Poetter International Scholarship in the amount of $10,000. The scholarship is to be awarded to one outstanding incoming international freshman from a country other than the United States, who is pursuing a degree program at SCAD. Selection will be made on the basis of academic ability, personal motivation, and leadership potential; however, financial needs may also be considered. To maintain eligibility for this scholarship during his/her undergraduate career, a recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, enroll full-time and complete the two summer sessions (FSSW and FSS) if offered. In addition, each May and Paul Poetter Scholar will receive additional financial support in the form of a research stipend during their final year of study.
Brief About May Poetter
May Poetter began teaching at Savannah College of Art and Design in August 1985 as an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Arts. She was appointed chairwoman in 1987 and continued to teach until her untimely death in 1994. Dr. Poetter instilled a great enthusiasm in her students and enjoyed a particularly devoted following among those pursuing careers in writing, film, and video. Paul Poetter joined Savannah College of Art and Design in 1989 as an assistant professor of Fine Arts, teaching photography. He is known for his strong ties to arts groups on campus and around the community, and his incredible sense of humor.

To be eligible for the May and Paul Poetter scholarships, students must meet the University admission requirements for becoming a student… and also student must meet the following criteria;
Student Must Demonstrate great academic achievement
Individuals must also demonstrate superior general achievement
The student must be a resident of the united states
The individual applying for this scholarship must be an international freshman
Scholarship value for the May and Paul Poetter Scholarship
The scholarship value for this scholarship is not specific, but the scholarship is said to cover the full-time tuition fee of the scholar.
However, after the first year, this scholarship is only said to be valuable if the awarded scholar maintains a certain CGPA. The CGPA to be maintained should not be less than 3.0. Otherwise, this scholarship will be withdrawn from the awarded scholar. On the other hand, the scholar must also be a positive contributor to the university community.
