quarterback Redshirt sophomore Hudson Card’s knowledge of offense and ability to avoid fouls was slightly ahead of the redshirt’s freshman, Quinn Ewers, at the quarterback battle when spring rehearsals ended. Summer work could give Ewers the advantage of entering pre-season camp, but with Sarkisian Refused to indicate whether there is any chapter Between the two players at Big 12 Media Days last month, Card remains the co-initiator listed first on the depth chart here in a battle that could be over before game week.
running back – Probably the best and most stable combination in the entire list. There’s really nothing else to be said for the Tashard Choice room in terms of depth chart.
wide future – Transfers and injuries have left Horns weak at wide receiver out of spring training, but reinforcements arrived with two transfers and two signers, as well as ongoing rehab for sophomore red jersey Troy Omeyer and freshman Jaden Alexis, who should both be close to completeness. Speed as camp starts.
The starters are essentially restricted, so the story revolves around which players will make their way in alternating between a group of Iowa Transition Tariq Melton and fast-paced freshman Brennen Thompson compete in the slot and Omer and Alabama Agee Hall move on and battle it out for 10th.
tight end The inclusion of three players involved in the position is an indication of the situational roles each player is expected to play this season. Alabama transfer Jahleel Billingsley is in the mold of Lil’Jordan Humphrey as a senior indoor receiver, sophomore Gunnar Helm is the best blocker, and sophomore Ja’Tavion Sanders is a more traditional receiving threat as a court finisher who is still improving his blocking.
offensive line At Arlington, Sarkissian indicated he wouldn’t have a strong sense of what he had in his six summer career along the offensive line until the bandages came in, but offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., offensive goalkeeper DJ Campbell and offensive tackle Cameron Williams Everyone was praised by their head coach and teammates for their summer work.
Expect Banks and Campbell to move up the depth chart quickly once the Texans get in the pads and endure crucial camp scrimmages, but for now, it’s too early to offer one of them as a start in this version of the depth chart, especially with the uncertainty as the sophomore will play Hayden Conner.
line of defense – In the list of busiest spots on the roster, Longhorns enter camp with 18 defensive players and two outside linebackers. Freshmen Justice Finkley, freshman Jmond Tubb, and freshman Byron Murphy II are three players who can make big moves during camp with Murphy potentially emerging effectively as a novice in handling noses.
back – Senior DeMarvion Overhown revealed he’ll play more on the edge this fall, as he lines up at the heart of the strong quarterback in the base defense with the addition of a transfer from James Madison Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey, who will play Overhown’s position on the weak side in that pool of individuals.
secondary – The depth chart assumes corner freshman Jaylon Gilbo and new red corner student Ismail Ibrahim will return to training after the suspension. Summer joins Austin Jordan and X’avion Brice should start showing up this week in practice as the primary battle between juniors Jerrin Thompson and Kitan Crawford continues safely.
special teams Freshman Will Stone ahead of Freshman in a red-orange shirt is probably the biggest single offering on this depth chart, but Auburn looked a little shaky in Orange-White and Stone was brought in as a recruit with the potential to earn money on the spot starting assignment , so get a nod here. While Texas also signed new deep snapper Lance St.
